Plymouth Massachusetts

We had to go to Lowes near the waterfront this morning, when I saw the fog we stopped to take a few pics.............

The boats are fogged in and it's hot, humid and sunny 10 miles east

This is the portico that houses "The Plymouth Rock" it's be reworked...

A village house / shop going to the "Mayflower II", you know the Pilgrims ride....

That was 10 miles west, 10 miles east puts you out to sea!

Love this one especially!

Reminds me of a favorite vacation memory from years ago. Charlie and I were at the beach, I believe White Horse Beach, in that area, when the fog rolled in like that. We went to have drinks and lunch at a place overlooking the waterfront. A group of people came into the place, and we heard a man with a loud booming voice say "We're socked in out there!" It just sounded funny, but whenever we come upon fog, we always adopt that booming tone and say in unison, "We're socked in!" Juvenile, I know...

Ya know, it brings back some vacation memories for me, too. The first and only time I was in Newport, Rhode Island, it was in a very similar fog. Seeing those old mansions suddenly materialize before us as the fog shifted was downright ghostly. Even though it was kind of creepy, it made for a memorable touring of the sites. The pictures were very cool and spooky, too.

I'm glad you brought this thread back!

My wife is from Marshfield so we've been to Plymouth a few times.

Had some "gulf shrimp" lol...that's still a running joke. And "the rock"!

This is a link to an article about the Plymouth Plantation (it's actually Plimouth) how they are building another colonial house. Mainly pictures, I think we'll do a visit to the Plantation this year and do a report..............

I've never been to the plantation (been to Sturbridge a bunch) sounds like a good day trip for us.
