Demographics in Playa

Hello all.
I have a silly but interesting question.
What is the demographic situation in Playa?
I am from Argentina and my wife from Mexico, have been in the Bay Area
for quite a while and i really enjoy the mix here.
As we are thinking to move to Playa in the future i was wondering about the demographic break down. I think Italians run first, and Argentines second, is that right?. Any how i will love to know more.

Thanks to all

Ale

who knows?
...and no way of saying.

Not sure how you come up with your assessment, though. Argentines second?

residents, not tourist.

Like i said, someone said to me that there were lots of Italians and then Argentines.
I am talking about permanent residents no tourists.

Thanks.

there is no census of ex-pats that i'm aware of, but there appears to be a pile of Americans down here, too.

Immigration has the figures on people on FM-3 and FM-2 visas - the Diario de Yucatan publishes the figures for the state of Yucatan each year - so I assume it is possible for the state of Quitana Roo as well - which would include Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen and, of course, the rest of the state. It would not cover folks who are there for extended periods each year on tourist visas, though.
