Traveling solo
I have searched and tried to read everything regarding this topic but I just need reassurance. We (DH and I) had planned a trip (airfare purchased) for January 2009, but the DH and I may not be so dear in January! Sadly, I may be taking this trip alone. I want to remain positive, and not have my love for traveling be diminished by being solo. We went to Playa this past January and I loved it so much that I was the one that planned a 10 day trip in the future. We stayed at the LabNah on 6th and it was perfect for us. Would you recommend someplace different for the older solo woman traveler? I'll watch for the peep meets and would appreciate any suggestions.

I love travelling alone. I feel perfectly safe. Of course, I'm away that bad things can happen just like in my hometown. Once it gets closer to your date you can check this forum to see if there are any meets. You can also start a meet of your own. Have a great trip

I love traveling alone...
Dave? Have you left for work? ![]() ![]() Playa is great for a woman traveling sola. I have traveled there alone several times. My longest stay was for six weeks. I had no problems whatsoever. Take a look at Pennylane's travel report...she had a blast. Click here I have stayed at the Playa Maya, Alhambra, Posada Freud, and Hotel Cielo. Also, you might consider the Luna Blue. It's a great opportunity to just relax and pamper yourself. |

![]() I happen to have a lot more vacation time than my better half so I'd rather go alone ( or with a girlfriend ) than not go at all. One of my best trips was last year during "Wimmins Week" with a great bunch of gals traveling solo from this board. So, who wants to go this Fall?

We've all done solo and as everyone else mentioned, it's really easy and Playa in particular is a fabulous place to try your first solo wings. You're already familiar with the area and there's always a peep meet or two going on so there's plenty of ways to meet up with yet-to-be friends. Go for it!! Just the planning might be exactly what you need right now if I read your message correctly. |
