I like the Maine variety better.

I ate lobster twice in PDC last month...at Jaguar (not good and very expensive) and on the Catamaya cruise (very good and included in the trip). Go figure.

BTW...I should probably add that your mileage may vary. I have had wonderful meals at Jaguar before, and would expect the same if I returned.

Just my MHO...

when it comes to lobster it's all in what your expectations are. When you are accustomed to east coast lobster, with huge claws, a fairly large tail and lots of work to get the meat and are presented with a small lobster tail, it is a little bit disappointing. If what you get has been cooked to perfection: you're happy.

The lobster bisque at Blue Lobster is yummy, I would eat there just for that.

At the Blue Lobster you can choose your own tail size, from small to huge. This was perfect for me, since I came in one time and wasn't that hungry, but didn't want a tiny tail either. I remember it being good.

Also ate at Big Lobster, but ... umm.. don't think I had the lobster there. However, they doted on our five year old daughter. One waiter even took a stick and played with the giant lobsters in their tank, to entertain her when she got sleepy. Very friendly place if you're too tired to walk far from the south end.

I believe that lobster fishing season is only during the winter months? At least, that's what we were told at one restaurant that didn't have a lobster tank.

When we were there we ate at Blue Lobster as well. A medium sized lobster tail was about $35US. My girlfriend said it was excellant. I had some stuffed fish and it was also good. They show you an ice bin and you get to choose which tail you want. Pretty nice, has a nice open 2nd floor that lets you watch the passer by's below.

You can't beat La Pesca for seafood, including North American lobster. The owner, Antonio, will bring a plate with several lobster tails, and you choose the one you want. The prices there are half of what you'll pay anywhere near 5th. La Tarraya is also an awesome choice for very reasonably priced seafood, plus it's right on the beach.
