I had a fantastic mojito in a beautiful local Chinese resataurant last weekend. Tonight, I'm meeting my friend for Italian at a favorite restaurant...alas, they don't make mojitos, but they do make a delightful expresso martini...I'll have to suffer. They have flat screen TVs at the tables in the lounge area, so I'll probably get to watch the game too...But Ranger, really, I think you have to host a mojito party soon! ![]() |

I agree with Babaloo (post #4)...I don't care for mint juleps (I don't care for whiskey in general). But mojitos are a different story.
If you happen to be in Playa, I invite you to try the mojito at Babe's, if you havent already...quite delectable, if you ask me! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The best? Very much a matter of opinion and a moving target. Who's working the bar, how busy is the place, etc.
An awful lot of people rave about the mojitos at Babe's. I've tried them at both locations, more than once, and found them to be irregular and only adequate at best. We've sampled them all over town. We found most we tried better than Babe's. The most dependable ones we've ever had, and on a consistent basis, were at La Bodequita del Medio. That's the Cuban restaurant/bar in the Plaza del Carmen mall at the south end of 5th, near the ferry dock. I've heard numerous folks express disappointment with their mojitos, but like I said, it's a matter of personal taste, and we've sucked back a bunch of them there. They have a Happy Hour that will do you serious damage if you're not cautious. |

I second (or quadruple or whatever) Anna Tortuga. The mojitos at La Zebra are the best.
If you're not going to Tulum, try the ones at Bodeguita del Medio or La Hora Feliz. Both are good and reliable. |
