They do do good swimwear....I usually buy things that cost about $5 but they're definately worth the extra price, I think I'll buy one from there in future rather than cheaper ones! Much more flattering I think

I see this is your second trip to Mexico? On my last trip to Mexico I met a couple from England and they indicated that the cost of travel from the UK to Mexico was much greater than say, the Maldives or Seychelles islands. Is this true? Just wondering as I have always wanted to visit those islands.
Hi it was actually our third trip there We love the place!

Yes the flights cost a LOT...we find that pricing up dif hotel options really doesn't make a huge dif to the price of the hol, or even goin for three weeks compared to one...the price is all in the flights from over here!!

I'm not sure about the Maldives/Seychelles but my brother did Bangkok (sp?) and Koh Samui (sp?) for much the same price as over here...

I've actually seen round the world flight tickets for cheaper than our Mexico holidays

Yes, two boobies is a good thing to have. Thank goodness I don't have one or three. OMG, you have me on the floor laughing. I have two kiddos, children, ninos...

Actually, while I was living in Playa in December/January of 2003/2004 I found it very cold. I went to work in pants with a wool sweater and my snowboarding jacket. It was mexican night that night which meant I had to wear traditional mexican dresses, instead I took the long version that the dancers usually wear, with the long sleeves and left the wool sweater on underneath, and I was still cold sitting in the theatre.
I also have friends that wear scarves, and toques in Playa in the "winter" months.

Some of them must because I am sure I have seen them in some of their bigger stores, I've also seen bathing suits at La Vie en Rose and I believe one of them has actually opened up a bathing suit store called Aqua, but I can't remember which company. You need to fly out to BC and go shopping at Metrotown!

What would you wear in the winter over here????
Or come to think of it - in the summer!! I think our summer is colder than Playa's winter!

We must be somewhat hardened to it after years of going out on nights out in dresses like those worn on nights out in this trip report, in the minus temperatures, with no coat over here!! Yes, unfortunately, I'm being serious!!

Yeah, that is all I need, mofi- a better selection so I can shop MORE than I already do! We have a La Vie en Rose here and I will have to go and see if they have suits. I want to buy one before my December trip and I was going to order a couple from Venus but I decided it's better to do my usual bit of trying on 100 and buying one or two.

misssixty - in December and January it really can get quite cool, at night especially. There was a cool spell (locals would call it 'cold') in Playa last January for a few days- it got as low as 8 degrees Celcius I believe?

Even people from cooler climes would be wearing jeans and jackets in that temp I bet!

Temps are SO relative though, and I am sure you and I would be in shorts and bathing suits in a lot of the weather in winter months that the locals would consider long pants and long sleeved shirts the norm.

Well right now I am in Calgary which is much colder then Vancouver, I haven't worn shorts or a skirt thus far this summer, and in the winter i wear two pairs of pants, a t-shirt, a sweatshirt a 600 fill down jacket with hood that I can pull tight against my face, a scarf wrapped around my head and snowboarding mitts, with an extra pair of fleece mitts underneath and some kind of boots. No pictures or I'd post. Basically I don't know how I've survived living in the cold, I hate it.
