Nuestra Senora del Carmen Catholic Church

Just wondering if Nuestra Senora del Carmen Catholic Church is too far off of 5thAvenue, how long would it take to walk to from 5th Avenue, or should we just take a Taxi direct from our Resort to the Church? We will be staying at the Grand Riviera Princess starting Aug.8/08 & during our vacation we would like to attend Sunday service. Do you know if the Church is air conditioned?

Looking foward to your responses. Much thaks

The church is on 15th avenue at 12th street...two blocks off 5th.
I'm thinking the services are in Spanish.
And I doubt the church is air conditioned

Babaloo: Thank you so much for the photo of the Church. It is very beautiful.
Anna Tortuga: Thanks for letting me know that the Church is well ventilated. Does this mean you have actually attended Church service there, if so, is it a 'one hour' service?

Not a church goer, but the wife is...daily mass is generally no more tha 30-40 minutes (or two beers while waiting for spouse at Beer Bucket) and they are at 8 am and 8 pm. Not sure on Sunday times.

Anna Tortuga: I will take you up on your offer to check out the Sunday Service for me. I'm wondering what time the services are on a Sunday in August & how long,as I believe the service times change from season to season.

Your help is greatly appreciated. Mucho Gracias

We went on Sunday, July 6!

We went to Mass on Sunday, July 6 to the noon Mass. We took two taxis from the Sandos Playacar. One taxi was $5 and the other was $6! Make sure to ask before you get in. Yes, there is no ac, but it is pretty well ventilated, until all the parishioners fill the place! Mass was 50 minutes long, maybe a little less because it started a bit late. I was really impressed with the singing. The parishioners sang without musical accompaniment but they sounded great. Sunday Masses are at 8, 10 and noon; Saturday Mass at 8 pm. Not sure if Mass times are different in August. Have fun in Playa!

thefeds & Anna Tortuga: Once again, this forum has been a great help. Thank you to both of you for clarifying the service times on Sunday. I will try to get our family there a little early so that we can get seats near to windows.

We go to the church in Colosio (Guadalupe). It is bigger (more air) and has a mariachi do the music (Ave Maria is very moving). We used to go to the downtown church, but I find it too stuffy. I like my mass with a little more culture.

Welshly Squirt: Where is this Guadalupe church located, I mean, do you know the full name & address of it? Is it far from 5th Avenue? Do you know what time Sunday Service is at?
