UPDATE on Mezzanine
I stopped in at Mezz today, spoke to one of the employees.
Good news is that they are completely open - everything - bar, hotel, restaurant. Their lawyers have been hard at work. She said all is good, for now, but does not what the future holds. I'm looking forward to making it back over there for dinner later this week! El Paraiso - his lawyers are not so successful/lucky. They are open, but only for beer, wine and cold foods. They are not allowed to serve hard liquor nor can they serve hot food out of the kitchen. I'm taking the family down to Tulum to hang out in a few days, and we will probably go to Ana y Jose's beach club, a little further south from El Paraiso. I stopped by and they were completely open, 100% operational and 100% trouble free! I'll update with more news if/when I have any from down here. |

StewartG, thanks for the update, this will be a very interesting story to follow and it isn't being covered by the media very much. Don't ask too many questions though, they might think you're a government agent.

A' - we are checking out another beach club today with some pretty good potential as another hang out joint. I'll take pictures, try their food and drinks and get back with you on it. Ana y Jose beach club - ever been there? We stopped by to look at it and it looked pretty nice!
