ciloun,

Don't go away mad. The folks around here sometimes poke a little fun, but its all good natured (except for Heather and Susie...they are kinda mean). The longer you hang around, the clearer it becomes.

You should stick around. I suspect you'll get your questions answered.

Not to mention, 'France French' and French Canadian French are two quite dissimilar languages. I am a Technical Writer and we actually have to separately translate them both into two different manuals, they are that different. French Canadian is much more formal than modern French spoken in France.

So if the original posters are from France, a place like Martinique would be far preferable than sending their son to Quebec. Good point.

Miss-Understood

Dear Rissask, thanks for the back-up. I feel I accidentally and innocently turned the flow of the thread, when, in my first post, all I actually meant was that, as a mother - finding a place that is closer to Playa than Montreal for your child to continue the educational goals you obviously feel very strongly about - would be the best option if the language was not offered in the location you're moving to. Factor into that they are France French: the "brand" of language would be the same, the educational set-up and system would be the same, even the nationality of the education would be the same.... with the added benefit of the Caribbean flavour (and from my point of view - the added benefit of no snow - evah). There was never a negative intent towards the engaging and embracing multi-ethnicity of Playa, only a poor initial explanation of my suggestion. And I feel that every other comment after that was in good humour and should be taken as such.

Please don't go away. It was a misunderstanding of intent and no harm was intended. The other remarks were just little jokes, so please give us another chance. We'll do what we can to help you.

No problem, I admit I didn't know at first what you meant either, but you went on to ably explain it all. Message boards are renowned for misinterpretations! I had to put my two cents in (as usual )- a lot of people don't realize the two languages are really very different (although I am sure you and the original poster likely both know that).
