we are renting a car for three of our 8 days. we plan to hit some ruins,and xcaret. what are some other can't miss sights/activities that we should use the car to see/do? Also, BEST snorkelling places? What about best bars in Playa area? Thanks guys- I have about a million questions and the site is really helpful.

For good snorkeling try Yal-Ku in Akumal or Cozumel. Playa has a lot of good bars, just take a walk and find your favorite. Some nice ones are Bourbon Street, Tequila Barrel, Beer Bucket, ******, Babe's...
