one thing that stood out to us- what is UP with every small bar and tavern that might have one of two VLTs, having a sign claiming 'CASINO' out front?
![]() There were so called 'casinos' everywhere! Is that the same in all states? |

![]() nothing wrong at all with being sixty - the reason we went on this girl's trip is my mom turned 65 this week . But it's not exactly.....complimentary if you are not even 40 yet and someone thinks you look and/or sound 60, of course right? (not that Stephen meant that). |

![]() But we have a lot of VLTs in bars, those profits go to the government. But those establishments don't have neon signs saying casinos out front, like there was there.... it just seemed like total overkill! ![]() |

OK, that's the final straw. I want to know what has happened to Stogey??? I've seen it on other threads too. Either someone is transposting or Stogey has had some type of brain injury. C'mon the
smilie? When has "Stogey" ever been embarrassed about anything he has ever written. Who are you and what have you done with Stogey???? |

It varies by province. Different rules in every jurisdiction. We have a couple in Winnipeg that are owned/run by crown corporations (the government) but others in the province are owned by indian bands. I know the regulations are different in Ontario and Quebec as well. Riss, is the big fancy one in Moose Jaw indian owned? I say owned, because I can't imagine they have anything to do with running it, even if they own it.

It's Stogey. He and I have a special bond. ![]() See, I take the high, tolerant road with him....infnite patience and the ability to selectively ignore, that is what it takes. ![]() Quote:
The one next to Temple Gardens is Casino Moose Jaw. (If you want fancy, next time you are in the area, check out the new one close to Saskatoon, the Dakota Dunes, really nice. Also the golf course there is spectacular.)According to this site, yes it is Indian run- according this page, all of the big casinos in this province are run either wholly or as a joint partnership by the Sask gov't and the Federation of Sask Indian Nations or the Sask Indian and Gaming Authority. I think most of the employees are native, as well as the boards. |
