Please...room recommendation at Riu Tequila???

Hi everyone,
We are Cozumel regulars, and this is our first trip to Playa. We chose the Riu Tequila because of all the great reviews, in spite of not being on the beach

Can the fans of RT give me either a link to a map of the hotel or their favorite rooms closest to the beach?? Please???
We- DH, 16, 13, 7 kids and me- are going on Aerobus

August 9-16.

Hola and welcome!

I can't help you with an actual building/room number but so that you're aware.... there IS no room "closest to the beach". The entire hotel is off beach, you have to walk out the front entrance of the resort, cross the street and through or past the Riu Yucatan to get to the beach. Requesting or trying to find out what building is closest to the beach is a moot point.

So you can see what I mean...here is a map of the Riu hotels in Playacar. The Tequila is the one all the way on the left (blue dots). The Yucatan is the one across the street and to the right of the Tequila (black dots).

I understand that the Tequila isn't 'on the beach'....I guess we should ask for the rooms closest to the Yucatan? Any numbers? Thanks...

I have stayed at the Tequila twice. Ask for Block 28 or 29. Ask for an upper floor room facing the golf course. (At the very least, try to get a room on the upper floor. The ceilings are very high, giving the room a much more open feeling.) E-mail the resort about a week ahead of time to make your request. Of course, rooms are subject to availability, but they will make their best effort to accomadate your request. (The front desk staff has always been excellent.)
