Yea,no biggie, just stay inside so you don't get hit by flying debris.I have been through some Tropical storms that seemed worse than some Cat 1 hurricanes, depends on the track ect ect.

From the NHC at 5:00pmest.:
ATA FROM AN AIR FORCE RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT INDICATE THAT MAXIMUM
SUSTAINED WINDS REMAIN NEAR 45 MPH...75 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. SLIGHT STRENGTHENING IS POSSIBLE TONIGHT BEFORE DOLLY
REACHES THE YUCATAN PENINSULA.

After 3.5 hours, someone FINALLY came to shut it off. We are all much less insane now, especially my poor dogs.

Just tied the grill lids down got the patio furniture ready to bring in house and we will close storm shutters on windward side of house when rain starts coming in the doors then watch a little TV and go to sleep. Everyone have a nice evening.

Is this normal? To do dry law for a tropical storm?

I would say no way.The worst part of the storm is going to be around 2:30am,and then it will slowly get better, but 9am,no way.

Well they are expecting it to turn into Cat1, so that could be the reason. Also its a new governement in place so they dont want to take any risks I guess.

Since when was anything normal in Mexico anyhow?
