? about kids at the Bahia Principes

Hi new to the board but not new to the riviera maya. We are travelling for the first time with our kids (6,8) and another family w/kids. The price is right at the Bahia and we like being near akumal HOWEVER I've been reading not great things about the kid's club (i.e. no real activities, non engagement w/kids) does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the kid's clubs? We don't expect all day stuff but our 8 year old loves doing crafts & games for a couple of hours to get out of the sun.

Also I'm hearing not so great food/service. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!!

debvil

(We've (hubs & I) have been to Dreams Tulum, Club Maeva Tulum and thought their food was great)

I stayed at the Bahia Principe Akumal but my kids didn't use the kid's club at all so I can't comment (although I saw other kids going in and out). But IMHO, the food and service was fine.

My family, which included two nieces (ages 6 and 9), stayed at the Bahia Tulum in Dec. 2005. They had so much fun playing at the beach and pools... they had no desire or time to even bother with the kids club. I think your kids will have a blast! As for the food and service... we were very pleased. We've also stayed at the Barcelo and Iberostar Tucan... and we all felt the food and service was superior at the Bahia. (especially the food) We enjoyed it so much there... we're going back again this Christmas with two other families.

Thanks for your input - -we booked Bahia akumal for Nov. through locogringo. Really good pricing. Since we'll have a few kids of the same age range we figured they can keep each other occupied at the beach/pool.

If the kids club is good that'll be gravy.

Thanks again!
