When I was in culinary school...

a gal wanted to save money and get a bikini wax at a beauty school.

The goopy wax got slopped on and dribbled in the wrong places ......

The gal got her clitoral hood waxed off by accident.

OMG indeed for real?? That can't be true! I wouldn't think it is strong enough.


I can't imagine waxing myself, especially that area....I tried to do my lower legs once myself and my ex hubby walked in and I was crying and there was blood running down my leg, never again, I think I got maybe three strips done in total and that was enough of that!


Susie- how is the laser, is it working? How many treatments now? I still haven't gone, I am scared of the pain. Lots of people are sure doing it these days, I have 6 GFs who are getting their underarms and bikini done.

My one friend said she started off her laser treatments leaving a little triangle....then it never looked straight and she finally just went for the whole brazilian. She says the shyness didn't last and soon her knees were up by her ears. Not sure I can do that.

I'm SOOOO glad I had it done! However, if it hadn't been a program where one payment covered all the treatments until the hair was gone, it would have been awful. I've been going almost 3 years now, and they're still cropping up. Those stories about 5 treatments being enough are kaka or only work on lesser women than I!

EDIT: and the pain is WAY less than waxing!

They don't have a deal here like that anywhere, that I have heard of. I think it is something like $150 a session for both underarms and bikini.
the pain thing seems to be subjective ....one woman tells me it hardly hurt at all, another said it was worse than labour pain. Was yours a hot or cold laser?

I guess I don't know the difference. There's no sensation of either, during a treatment... it just feels like tiny hair sized staples being injected, if it hurts at all. You DO know I paid just $300US for each location - bikini and underarm - right? I'm thrilled with it. I was to the point of obsession before this because, living here, you just can't let it go, ya know? And every other method caused problems. But I have been there SOOO many times now. If I'd paid $150 shot, I'd be up to nearly $10,000 by now, between the two areas. FWIW, the underarms cleared up really fast in comparison to bikini.

BEST, BEST thing I've ever done for myself is laser hair removal!!!! I've had bikini, underarms and that nasty upper lip hair removed.

I have black hair, and needed a total of 8 treatments (I think) for bikini and 6 for the others.

Definitely the best money I've ever spent in my live!!!

I don't know what the difference is, between 'hot' and 'cold' lasers either...supposedly the places in town that use the older hot ones are more painful.


10,000?? You mean to say you have had 100 sessions?? Oh my, I would never have the patience to stick that out!


edit: I think I am going to wait and see how long it takes/how many sessions for the women I know, to find out more...

Yes, and from what I hear and read on the internet, it's WAY cheaper than it is in the US. But it wouldn't pay to have it done here if you didn't live here or come down every month. And monthly visits would kind of cut into the cost savings.
