oh man Syl- I should have been able to figure that one out, sorry.
![]() Gotcha. ![]() Thanks Kim, I will look into that one too, I have heard of that one before. ![]() Quote:
OMG Susie, that shake sounds AMAZING. I would totally add peanut butter, I love it (and it's natural protein!). ![]() I like fruit smoothies too, sometimes on the weekends I have them for breakfast. Quote:
Like, today for example, I am having a bowl of cereal for supper because yesterday for supper we had perogies with fried onions and sour cream, with sausage. ![]() ![]() on the bright side I only had 5 perogies instead of my usual 6! |

We'll see how long I keep it up- but I think keeping track of what I eat will be a good thing, especially in the summer when there's so much crap around to eat Thanks for the nudge, Susie

We have an auction and dinner to go to on Sunday evening, and I know that I will have dessert and eat heartily. I am now trying to do like my friend and cut back all week (a little here and there) to see if that helps. I may eat lighter on Saturday. It's just that I can't keep track of which day I ate more and which to eat less like she does. She's very, very anal and has a system. I cannot ever stick with a journal to be honest. It starts of okay and then I slack off. Today I made sure to be more active and not sit around like I sometimes do. It's so darn hot outside Being off for the summer can be hard on my system because I'll snack all day long. But, tonight is gym night and I will definitely add a few extra minutes to my workout. Actually, I was reading that if you normally exercise for an hour that you should up it to 1 1/4 hrs instead and you'll see a difference. As usual, if you're eating the wrong things all day and working out like crazy, it still doesn't help you shed. It's a combo thing Imagine Riss, we're bitching about 10-12 lbs. What about those poor souls who are trying to lose 100?![]()

Well, it's all relative, what we each feel about the size we are- and to me, I feel soft flabby and lazy right now.
And it's more due to muscle tone and my (LOW) fitness level than my weight as a number. And those last ten pounds are the most stubborn. When I lost 30 pounds, the first 20 came off quite easily as long I was committed, it was the last ten that was tough....these last ten pounds which I keep putting on and taking off, etc. This is just a guess, really, as I am nowhere near an educated nutritionist- but I would think that eating like that (one day whatever you want, the next lightly) might be not great for everyone as it might screw with your metabolism? ![]() The best analogy I have heard that I try to go by is keeping your body fueled regularly to keep it purring along at it's optimum performance- like a high performance car that you would never put low grade gasoline in, you also shouldn't put a bunch of cheap junk food or crap food or additives in your own body- and like refined white sugar in the gas tank is a bad idea for your car, it's a bad idea for you too!

So are you working out Riss?
Went to the gym last night and added on an extra 15 minutes to my workout. Felt good afterwards, but was so darn hungry when I got in I understand about the flab. That's what I noticed while working out

Yes, I have been fairly consistent with working out for the past ten or so years, since I first started to lose that 30 pounds (you know the 30 that the last ten pounds from keep coming back and going and coming back, etc.?). Exercise was a huge part of the weight loss, especially the weights I think (the cardio alone to lose weight is really pretty inefficient. Once I started the weights, the pounds peeled off).
although in the summer I tend to miss my cardio and weight training, I simply don't have time. ![]() My problem is I generally eat and drink more crap in the summer, so along with the missed workouts, I usually gain weight. I am going to try to do a minimum of two weight and cardio workouts a week though, even in summer, I decided I have to. I started this week, Tuesday- of course I couldn't last night and tonight we are busy, and tomorrow night we have family coming in...so I will do it Saturday. One of the reasons we are wanting to buy a house in the city is to get away from all the driving we do living in the suburbs. We want to be able to walk to entertainment instead. I sit at a desk all day- but twice a day a bunch of us go outside for one mile power walks, unless it's raining. I think that helps a lot, plus it wakes us up.

For me it's beer and anything with salt in it. I love good beer such as Sam Adams or Genus stout. Then again everything I like such as chinese food is loaded with salt. When I'm at a truck stop I mostly go for the salads and a little protein such as chicken or pork.
I go by the eat just about anything I want as long as it is in moderation. |

Just remember if you workout consistantly you'll add muscle weight which is good so don't get discouraged if you see the pounds adding up a little. The average person if working with weights can add up to about 10 pounds of muscle weight per year, anything more than that is usually fat or water. |
