inability to speak spanish

my wife and I will be honeymooning in November, but neither of us have taken a Spanish class in over 10 years. Any suggestions on places to go and eat/drink that might be a little more "Americanized"?

For the most part, you won't have any problems in Playa at all. If one person doesn't speak English, they will bring around someone who does.

May I suggest Disney World?

You'll be fine. I speak close to nada Spanish and things always work out. If I can't pronounce something on the menu, I just point to it. You'd do well to brush up on some basic phrases, as it's nice to make an effort to speak the native language of a country you're visiting, but I wouldn't worry.

Try and speak Spanlish!! You will be fine but try and pick up a few words before you go. Words like beer, bathroom, tequila, beer, water & bathroom are good ones to know.

How do you say "tequila" in Spanish?

You said you were going to Mexico not TEXAS! English is spoken in most places in the tourist area and around the tourist area

As everyone has already said, anyplace you go in the tourist zone (5th avenue) you will be able to eat/drink and be able to communicate what you want. Menus will be written in charming Mexican "Engrish" that will make your day.

Enjoy yourselves, don't worry, and welcome to the forum!
