Motion Sickness remedies????
We are just weeks away from our vacation & I'm already starting to panic about flying on a plane. I have only ever been on a plane once & I was literally sick to my stomach until the plane landed & miraculously I felt 100% better instanteously. So I'm hoping I will have a better flight experience this time around by preparing myself. I've read that Dramamine is good for 'motion sickness'. Is Dramamine the same as Gravol & can it bought in Ontario, Canada? Any suggestions on what I can take to make my travelling more comfortable, thus easing my husband's worries would be greatly appreciated. Much thanks!!

Hi, My wife had a hard time with motion sickness on our first few flights out, she found if she took a couple of gravol and had some toast and tea about 1hour before the flight she would be ok. I am not sure about dramamine - never used it .The gravol seems to put her to sleep fairly soon into the flight and shes never had a problem. I hope this helps, enjoy your trip Cheers

I know I'm a nervous traveler, meaning my stomach doesn't fair well when travelling long distances by car. When travelling by car, my husband will just pull over & give me sometime for my stomach to settle & then we continue on our journey. I definetly can't handle any food or drink, it only makes me more sick. This is why I'm worried about flying. I don't think the Pilot can accommodate me & 'pull over'

Yes, Dramamine and Gravol are the same drug.
I just buy over the counter generic Gravol, it works just as well. Just ask the pharmacist, some keep them behind the counter here in Canada. I don't get motion sickness but I do have trouble sleeping from time to time- and that ingredient (Dimenhydrinate) is the same as what is in OTC sleep aids, it's actually an antihistamine- and a couple of those before bed washed down with a jug of water and a glass or orange juice prevents the dreaded 'bad booze interrupted sleeps' when occasionally I imbibe a few too many Labatt Lites- and no hangover. Little secret.

My mom is a nurse. They give it to the old folks sometimes in the care home she works at, if they are having trouble sleeping, because it is so safe and gentle, non-addictive and no side effects.
But not with beer, tis true. ![]()

at the Viagra comment. I have to tell mom that one!Quote:
![]() oh my I am a little mortified. just a little though. With all the people around here who admit taking Valium or other drugs to fly, a little Gravol is peanuts.
