Italian Bread

Hello Everyone,
Enyone has any idea where we can get a bread that they serve for starter at "Il Pescatore" italian restaurant? We've tried bred from little italian store on Ave Constituentes just next to a pawn shop but its not the same. Any ideas??
Thanks

the best is from Pummarola. They sell it at Dac or Il Baretto among other places. the one you get on costituyentes is from la Famiglia
I could live on bread and olive oil and salt (and wine)

Get to Dac on 30th by noon or 1 pm as they often sell out. I was stunned to find the product as I am a east coaster and when living in Colorado would have friends mule a half dozen loaves of pizza bread from Terranova bakery on Arthur ave in the Bronx. Truly some of the best in the states. After you get the bread go to Mega and have the cut you a hank of Parm. reggiano from the case, grab some good EEOV and have at it.......... my mouth is literally watering as I write this

Is that the same as the Salami with Prosciutto? or are you talking two separate items?

I don't know the brand name but we just discovered it a couple of weeks ago and it is KILLER, the best of both wrapped up in one. Mega also has black forest ham which is the best of all the hams I have found here. Although..... there is always Iberica, from Spain, the pigs feed on acorns and the nutty flavor is to die for, but @ 35-40/lb you can only snack on it....

:
Salami with prosciutto? I don't know what you mean, sorry.
Prosciutto (crudo) is the darker one, good ones too are san daniele or parma. the cooked ham (light pink ham) is prosciutto cotto.
I never tried the salami

It is literally a salami that has chunks of prosciutto in it. At the deli, ask them to slice it fairly thin. I was in the restaurant biz for 25 years, fine dining, and never saw it. I love the things I find here in MX

I don't think it appeals to me very much . I grew up in a country where we don't like to mix things too much; but I AM curious so i'll look out for it next time I go to mega!

That is the PERFECT diet. The only thing missing is just a wee bit of chocolate once in awhile.

I think they changed the recipe or something. I bought a loaf last week and ate at LP on Friday and it is denser, smaller yeast holes. Not as good
