Canadian Rockies Trip Advice
I was hoping that I could get some guidance/advise from some of the many Canadians that regularly contribute to this site. I wanted to surprise my father by setting up a trip to the Canadian Rockies for him. He has always wanted to travel there and has been talked about seeing it by train for years. I am just beginning to research this and was hoping for any feedback from anyone that may have seen the Rockies by rail. There are a number of tours and rail companies to choose from so any recommendations on tours, best time of year to go, etc. would be greatly appreciated. It is his dream trip but he will never go unless I plan it and surprise him with it. Thank you!

What a great son you are!
![]() ![]() HERE is the page you need, information on Via Rail which has the train packages through the Rockies. Read this page, and there is a link to the 'train packages' page. I was on a ViaRail train through the Rockies out to the BC coast once....but I was nine. ![]() So I cannot say how it is lately, sorry!

![]() ![]() Except for the red brown dead trees from the spruce beetle you see everywhere out there.....it has been devastating. Good time to go now before all the trees are dead.

I do this all the time, especially with the young ones with a ma nearby. They're so cuddly and cute. I've never had a problem.
