Do You Color Your Hair, Ladies?
After the recent discussion on the "Girlie Girl's" thread, I was just wondering.
And your secret's safe. Nobody, not even the mods, will be able to see your answer, promise!

Yep, I do!
My hair is naturally a medium brown and I used to get blonde highlights until one day my son said........Mommy, why do you have old lady grey stripes in your hair? I was horrified! At my next hair appointment I told her I was ready for a change.......best thing I ever did! Bonfire Red highlights and everyone seems to like it. Been doing that for a couple of years now.

Yes, and it's a Royal PITA!
I started getting grey showing up more and more which I don't like, especially since my 74 year old mother won't let hers show![]() But hubby is major salt with little pepper and he looks good. That sucks. I hate men sometimes. They're so lucky to have grey and be thought sexy, even with the beer belly!! |

I used to dye mine jet black when I was a goth/art student/...
Sometimes silver and black. Sometimes dark purple and black. I started having greys years ago and I've no plans to cover them. I reckon it looks so fake and sad on men to colour them. I'm just glad I've got a full head of hair (unlike my brother who is 'well spammed'). Last edited by Mindbender; 07-25-2008 at 09:14 PM.. |

So true about the men looking sexy with grey hair. I love it
I also like it when a man shaves his head.I wonder what color my hair will turn. I'm thinking it will go to a dirty blonde. oops I'm already a dirty blonde ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:

OMG, I do too. That is sooooooo sexy My hubby started going grey when he was about 12 or 13, you know, the odd one showing up. We found a solitary grey on my son's head so I guess he'll be looking like his daddy when he's older. I have seen very few women who look terrific with grey hair. My mother looks drained and old when she doesn't colour hers. We beg her to colour because she looks about 10 years younger.

I said yes, I have dyed my hair in the past one solid color, but I am going to back to very blonde highlights, right now its pretty close to being all my natural color, which is a dark blonde, very light brown.

Just chiming in for the silver foxes!! As I have discussed on the other thread, went silver ( as I prefer to call it) very young, coloured til I was 40 and then said to hell with it.................I really believe that I look and I certainly feel better than I did hiding underneath my coloured hair. I know I am in the very small minority and I do understand when peeps feel they can't go au natural but I grew up with a Mom and an Aunt that went silver very early and they looked great at 40 and they look even better at 70!!! To each their own and let's celebrate life in all shapes and forms and in this case, colour!!!

When I go totally "silver" I might just get tired enough of colouring. I have seen a few women who looked stunning and hope that I could one of them, but based on how sickly mum looks with hers (not all silver, she's 74 and still about half dark brown), I have visions of looking equally washed out. You're so LUCKY!!
