I'm always pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive things are. We spent several hours at Kool with some friends, drinking and eating, and our total bill for four of us was about $700 pesos so about $63 US. Here in DC it would have been about $250 or more for sure. Got to love that.

Last time I was in Playa I got hosed at the Blue Parrot badly


What worked best for me was to buy good quality rum and fill up a portable flask that would travel inside my backpack. If I stopped by the beach, I would order a coke with ice and some limes. Then, I would pour my rum and coke the way I like it

I am more of a rum drinker than beer. Nothing I hate worst than watered down expensive rum and cokes.

At night clubs I usually buy the strongest beer and pay as I go.


Next trip I will be walking around with a portable coffee cup a lot
