Fake & Bake....Sunless tanners.....aughhh
ok, So orange seems to be my color these days. Is it another one of those ( you hit forty life changing things)????
Ever since I turned 40 a few years ago * notice I'm not being specific I mean I know we will be out in the sun every waking minute when we get to Riu Palace, and I know I should get sun tanned here before we get out there in the really hot sun. But I have noticed a lot of sun spots on myself since, I hit the... you turn 40 and all of a sudden and you need wrinkle creams, anti aging cream, puffy eye creams, toners, firmers, softeners, you name it....haha. so now hubby calls me the sunkist orange, hummm I wonder why? except now I can't get this lovely orange glow off, and even with using an exfoliator it now looks worse, my feet actually look dirty,(they are not) but where my foot and heel meet along the sides of my feet it looks awful. I feel like a freaky freak. ![]() So should I just get out in the sun and not worry so much? Of course I would use some kind of block. ![]() Oh yeah, tomorrow we evening we are going to the opening night for the Bruce Springsteen concert. for any die hards intersted.... If you happen to watch the news, look for me, I'll be easy to spot. LMAO |

Endless Summer by Coppertone works for me. The trick I think is to use very sparely. I use it after showering and only like every 2 days. Make sure you use lotion prior to using the tanner. And I never try to get dark, just add color.

I usually just pay the 25$ to get a mystic tan. No splotches or orange so far and it takes the worry out of if plus a good bottle of faken bake is 15-20$ anyways.
Now to get rid of the orange. Take a LOT of hot showers and use a washcloth with your fav soap and scrub away. Sometimes isopropyl alchohol will work to tone down splotchy areas. Have fun at your concert! |

I use the brand called Fake Bake and it's my fave. You apply it at night WITH GLOVES... then sleep with it on and in the morning take a shower and the residue comes off, but the rest stays there... much "browner" than orange... takes about 3 days in a row to get a good color...

oh that sucks!! I've been there. We pasty white girls have to be really careful with tanning products. You're orange because you used too much product or you used a product that was too highly concentrated with the tanning chemical (it's the same chemical in almost all tanners). It'll fade in a few days. It'll fade faster if you don't hydrate your skin..no lotions, oils etc.
My beach survival techniques...don't go anywhere without your spf 45 and a pareo, wear a hat and find a nice shady palapa with cabana boy service . Tans are overrated.

LMAO,
Your not kiddong about putting on to much fake bake, over the weekend my hubby & I went swimming in the lake where we live, just to let the water soak off some fake tanner. Luckily the part of me that is half Italian tans VERY well, I could be red one day, and the very next day I will be tan. Unlike the other half of me that is Irish and English, that half would normaly, Burn baby burn.
