Susie, did this start out as a campground/motor home park? I haven't been to Pamul for quite a few years, but I remember a place that used to have seasonal campers/motor homes. It was quite a while back, but even then they had a pool and a bar/restaurant. Or am I thinking of a different place nearby?

Stephen, in the winters, Paamul is packed to bursting with the snowbirds who drive their motor homes and tow their trailers down here. Paamul has had a restaurant for a very long time, but the pool is new since the "Great Fire of '04" which burned the restaurant and 9 palapas to the ground.

it's still the same
there are of quite a few spots for the RV's and campers,
but those spots are gradually being taking up by the palapas

How cool! We may have to take a little trip to check out the hood!

So, there you have it. With some great snorkeling and a beach that, even at its busiest has only a handful of people on it, not to mention being one of the "Top Ten Most Scenic Beaches in Mexico," it's worth a visit!
I love what you have done with your little piece of paradise. The whole place is fabulous... Thanks for posting!!

Thanks! Like how I managed to avoid the dirty dishes in my sink, just out of view? I'll take more pictures one day when it's all cleaned up and "company-ready."

How lovely!
The website doesn't seem to have any info about how much the casitas and hotel rooms are. Do you know?

No, I'm sorry, I don't. You'd have to email them for the current rates. I do know that the hotel is substantially more than the casitas and that the casitas were about $60-70 US 3 or 4 years ago, but currently? No clue! Sorry!

Susie I just ran across this thread, and you Really caught the Flavor of Paamul !! My Daughter and myself Really enjoyed bringing in the New Year with you and Rick this Year !! You know I have a Contract on my Palapa currently, He's a Professsor who Retires 2/09 and plans on moving down Permanently then, ( as long as He comes up with the Rest of Funds) !!
I have to pick your Brain on a situation, I have a Friend here in Houston who runs a Charitable Organization called Carrie's Heart, www.carriesheart.com, a Very worthwhile Charity that Helps Disabled Children throughout the Yucatan. As a matter of fact She's down there now. Right now the Professor and myself Share our use of the Property, even though neither have been down in a while. Carrie is Losing Her Rental Property in Playa in Sept. and had asked If She could Rent my Palapa, when not in use, I told Her Pepe did not allow Rental's. She then asked how would He feel about me Donating my time to the Charity, which I would be more than willing to do. How do think Pepe would view this type of arrangement ?? And how would I get with Him for Formal Permission ?? Your thoughts would be Greatly Appreciated, I would really like to Help Her out If possible...Hope All is Well !! Billy Ray
