One thing I've neglected to mention... as of the past several months or so, we now have.... PIZZA DELIVERY!!! Woo and hoo!!!! A former resident, Richard, opened Pizzaventura in Puerto Aventuras and a little motorbike zooms right up here with a very large pizza and a 2 liter refresco for $180 pesos. It's the life of Riley, I tell ya, and worth every peso!

Is that the one in the small shopping centre to the left of the PA entrance?

If so, they're rather tasty.

It's actually south, to the right, of the entrance. But it's the only one I know of there on the highway. They're not the best pizzas I've ever eaten, but any pizza that comes straight to my door is a good one!

ah yes, you've met the "Pah-pah!" loving child, have you? That's her word for pizza and I'm sad to say she knows the Domino's car top logo and yells "Pah-pah!" whenever we see one drive by... pizza delivery once a month isn't too bad, though, so I'm not gonna feel guilty... I'm not, I'm not, I'm not!

Suzie, thanks for the post. My husband and I own a condo in playa and we always make a trip to paamul (when we're down ) for lunch at the restaurant. I think the food is quite good and the view is to die for. The whole RV park isfascinating. I heard a rumor last year and because there is no shortage of rumors in the roo, I didn't know whether to believe itor not. I heard that the owner of the land that the RV park is on was offerred $75M for it and that he was holding out for $100M. I also heard that the residents of the park have two options 1) pay the yearly rental rate or 2) buy a permanent lease for some big wad of money. I know this flies directly in the face of your comments about the turtle sanctuary, but do you think ay of this is true?

I believe any of it could be true down here and any of it could be no more than someone's imagination. Rules are just made to be broken in Mexico, so anything could happen but, so far, I'm not worried. I also think the owner is basically a fair man. He knows the investments people have here and I prefer to believe he wouldn't screw people over.

As for the two options, with the new-builds, it could be that they're presented with both options but, personally, I've never been offered the choice of a permanent lease. And I wouldn't go that route, either. I do know some people who pay as much as 5 or more years in advance, in order to get the discount, though.

Doncha just hate early morning surprises?(Even when you like the company? ) The Jehovah Witnesses just caught me in Ally's Tori Amos by Target t-shirt (Size 12 childrens just so you have the complete visual) outside with the dog, who is apparently not god fearing or Christian.

Reading through this thread and having time to enjoy your beautiful pictures was my escape this morning, Susie! Thank you.

At first the prices on some of the palapas looked high, compared to what I remembered, and then I saw this:
RE/MAX PARADISE PROPERTIES TULUM, QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO. www.REMAXinTULUM.com Real Estate in Mayan Riviera...and Paamul is looking like an even better escape(and investment!)

Ive heard about this place but never knew how it worked and after seeing your pictures im very interested and have a few questions. So you purchase the palapa and bring your travel trailer down and then its about 600 a month for utilities and rent? Is there a website with all the info and with the palapas for sale? We are retiring in 4 years and would love to have something like this as a vacation home. If were not staying in our travel trialer at the time can friends come and use it when were not there? And last what about the bugs? I can handle just about anything but a spider or a tarantula!

Susie. Have been coming to Paamul for about 10 years to dive, usually in November. I was wondering if you know how Lester at the dive shop is doing healthwise.

glad someone directed me to this thread. i saw one listed here in wpg on kijiji.ca as another member posted a few pages back and it got me thinking! I would love to have something like this but i don't know if hubby can avoid the AI, he loves so much! I would like to know what happens when you are not there, can friends use your "home"? do most people drive down there if they keep their rv all year round there? or plane and then rent a car or something? can i pm you with more Questions??

Lin, you may not be the only one with questions, so fire away here, if you will. If your hubby likes AIs... well, I'm not sure he'll like Paamul. It's VERY rustic here and no one is scurrying around bringing you drinks and pampering you. (Except sometimes at the pool, the waiters will go out of their way to make sure your thirst is quenched - though it helps a bit if you're female. ) In general, no, unless someone is a co-owner, they prefer you not let someone else use your home when you're not here. Which is not to say that people don't do so. Most people who come down for the winter, if they don't bring an RV back and forth, fly down. Lots have a "Mexico car" that they leave here year-round. Does that cover this round of questions?
