I don't like the idea. Too many places have become Americanized, already. Some Americans take it upon themselves to pay local labor more than the going rate, which makes it hard for the locals to find help. They don't have the money to keep up with the big-pocketed American, trying to ease his conscience about paying a seemingly low wage. Right now, the middle class can afford to have maids and gardeners. Bring in more Yanks, and it will be solely the well-off who can hire domestic help, just like at home. Then, the price of everything goes up. Just look at places like San Miguel de Allende and Cancun, for evidence of this trend.
