A new chapter in my life....
... that's what I told my new boss today in Paris. After about 1.5 years of not knowing what would become of us, company being taken over, merging the companies and re-organization today I had my first meeting with my new department and my new boss. I will be part of that team as of September 1 but I knew them already and have liked working with them in the past 9 months. I will have to learn a lot and get familiar with my new tasks (which in general are not new but the applications I have to support are new to me).
We had a department lunch and the other girls (who told me that with the boss they often feel like 'Charlie's angels' since so far it was him with 4 women ![]() ![]() ) insisted that as aperitif nothing else than Champagne (the real stuff) was appropriate. I felt VERY welcome by them and I think the chemistry is right with all of them. I will be the only team member outside of Paris and I will support people in Cologne and Zurich (that's what I've been doing for years). What's new is that I will have to support users in London and Stockholm as well. I loved Stockholm so I wouldn't be too mad if I'd have to go back... ![]() All in all I think it will be a good new chapter of my life. The last one wasn't so bad either although we've had VERY rough times but you can't always remain with what you have... it will be lots of work and training for me in the beginning but I am looking forward to the new challenge.

Hi Andiline,
I know we have never met (hopefully we will someday) but I see from your posting, and from a earlier thread, that you are going to Thailand! Congratulations! If you have never been there you will love it....the land of smiles...the people are great! I think I remember reading that you are going to Phuket? If so where do you plan to stay?....if I may make a suggestion - the Holiday Inn, Phuket (theres only one). Great location, great place! Also, I'm not sure how many days you plan to spend there but 2 to 3 is more than enough. If I may be so bold to suggest Ko Samui (rent scooters and check out the Island) and better yet Ko Phangan (a boat ride from Ko Samui). Fabulous Island...go to the full moon beach, but try to avoid the place around a full moon...too crowded! Also if you plan to spend any time in Bangkok try yo do it over a weekend and then go to the weekend market (chetuchut I believe is how you say it in Thai), you will NOT be dissapointed if you like to shop for unique things! ...hope that helps and good luck with your new job! Thanks Silvergirl.
![]() Bobster, it is not my first time in Thailand. I will have two nights in Bangkok since I want to go back to the King's Palace and then I am going to Kamala which is a small village next to Pattaya. Kamala is not very touristy so it is not like Pattaya at all. I am going diving there with a dive company I already know (they are friends somehow) and I want to go to Khao Sok National Park, Ko Phi Phi and Phang Nga this time. Didn't go last time since I was diving all the time... ![]() Andrea |

No way I am cancelling it although it would solve a couple of timing issues.
