During some pay periods, the company borrows from the bank in order to meet payroll. Then, it's paid back once our clients pay us. Available credit is freezing up...doesn't look good for small business such as ours.

Sounds like Sun Country.

In the news last night, they said the CEO has decided to not take a paycheck for the rest of the year, and along with him, all of the employees are only going to get 50% of their pay for the rest of the year.

He "hopes" that the company will be able to pay everyone the other 50% on Jan 1...

The alternative would be to lay people off.

After Sept 11th, our company took a nose dive. Instead of laying any of us, all the higher ups took pay cuts. We did not know this until years later. They really value us and treat us like family. I'll be going on 10 years with them this Jan. I cannot imagine working for anyone else.

i'm staying in panama now with my parents and they live about an hour south of costa rica - far from any big cities. last night i went outside, it was finally a cloudless night, and just looked up in amazement at all the stars. it looked so beautiful, if only words could describe. it actually brought tears to my eyes . . .

I'm pretty sure I'm in love with Jemaine Clement. He's got everything I want in a man: dark hair, full lips, a bit scruffy, he can sing, and he makes me laugh so hard I actually feel sick about it. I haven't had a crush like this since I was kid...ok, since I was 30 and saw Joseph Fiennes in Shakespeare in Love.

It's not healthy to obsess like this, someone help me (because the Tylenol PMs aren't helping at ALL).

Mmmmmmm just ask Nick. When I first met him that was all I could cook....well mix in some canned tomatoes & bake with cheese on top & it is a casserole.
