I sold women's shoes at Macy's (well, Marshall Fields when I was there ). I'm one of the few guys that can go shoe shopping for my wife for her birthday, and she doesn't have to take them back![]() It was the easiest money I've ever made. They pretty much sell themselves...I just had to bring the right size, smile, and I got a commission. I don't know how many times a woman would sit down with one pair of boots, and I'd bring a few different ones just in case, and she'd end up leaving with them all...

That was the worst part of it. Luckily, the majority of women actually didn't want any help putting them on upon offering, they usually just wanted more shoes brought to them while they were checking out one pair in the mirror.
![]() Surprisingly, though, it seemed that many women came in with very clean and well taken care of feet, like they got their feet ready just to try on shoes... |
