You are legally guaranteed to have your job safe for the full year too. Frankly, when it first came in, many employers were pissed about it...it is tough to lose female workers for the full year!....but they adjusted and I think overall it is a good law.

Of course some women only take 6 or 9 months but most take the full year, and why not, right?


No, I never really feel like I don't fit in although I am well aware some don't like me...I am outspoken and sarcastic, and not everyone is going to like everyone else in life, so it doesn't bother me, c'est la vie....and do I ever get burnt out? Ask me after 50K posts.

I finished the BEST book, Paddling to the Amazon, this morning! Amazing. Two men canoed over 12,000 miles from Winnipeg Manitoba to Belem Brazil...wow.

Hey, that offends me...are you trying to say I am a slut? My slut days are long over.

Speaking of which....I went for a beer a few weeks ago with Don and a couple of his buddies, and for some reason we got on the topic of 'how many partners'....well, these guys had BOTH slept with over 100 women. They are happily married with kids now, this was mostly back in their early twenties.....they are not Don Juans, just regular looking guys....I was blown away by those numbers....

Rarely get PI burnout because it keeps me sane and not feeling so isolated in my windowless office 9 freaking hours a day. I don't feel out of place here, but like Riss I know there are some who don't like me. It just doesn't bother me. Plus, I like the combo of randomness here and politics there. It's nutritious.
