Not sure about the Thursday thing......maybe I'm trying to catch up from last weekend? 3 day weekends mess with me.

I'm a little miffed the manager didn't have the landscape people plant hibiscus in the courtyard pots this summer......big.....bummer. Instead, we have faded yellow jobbers that just don't pack a tropical punch......

I love hibiscus! None around here, sadly. Not hot enough, I guess.

'Doughnutting' is when a perennial gets old and the centre sort of collapses...then they have to be dug up and the parts that are still growing and healthy chopped off and replanted....you can end up with 5 new plants, on the bright side!

Hello, Brent! Why are we getting 2 to 3 VS catalogs a week???? I bet your wife picked it up and has it stashed somewhere with post it notes on the side indicating her selections.

She made it simple and just said "get me one of everything". I wonder if the boys have taken them and stashed them in their room?

I did it. I made it through a night of drinking at a bar with people smoking around me and I didn't smoke! It was hard at times but I didn't give in. I actually think I can quit for good this time.

Good for you, Kim!

That was the toughest for me too, going out and having a couple of drinks and not smoking.

But- you are allowed to smoke in bars there?

Yes. There aren't many but there are a few. I think that actually made me start smoking a little more when I moved out here. I had gotten used to IL being all no smoking, so I had cut down a lot, would smoke less when out drinking. Then I moved here and could smoke in some bars and was like uh ohhhh lol.
