Maggie, they were showing the mines last night on the news (from your company) since they were talking about relocating senior positions to Saskatoon. I am pretty sure I couldn't do that for a living, be down in a mine, too much clausterphobia for me!

Yeah, I only go underground once every 2 weeks or so....I would not want to work down there all the time, either. Mostly because it's dusty. But honestly, it's not claustrophic, really- it's pretty big down there and in most areas the back (roof) is quite high. Other than in the actual panels. On the plus side, it's nice and warm year round, 30 C!

hmmm, they are making the big guy come back from Chicago? I heard that too.

They did not specify the CEO would be in Saskatoon, but other senior VPs etc. The CEO said he has a home and pays taxes in Saskatoon; however he spends 200 plus days "on the road" and a lot of that time is in Chicago. So he didn't really answer if he would be in Saskatoon full time. I suppose any more high paying jobs to the province is good news though right?

Well, head office is here, so they really should be here, and the perception is that they were here....we have a phosphate operation somewhere in North Carolina or somewhere, so they moved a few of the senior guys to Chicago years ago. But with the BHP takeover attempt, it was brought out into the open that the higher-ups live there, so now they are bringing them back here....politics!!

and high paying is right.....the Pres was one of the highest paid CEOs in the entire WORLD last year.

If I didn't spend so much time Dickin Around on the forums today, I would be home watching TV instead of sitting at work trying to catch up.

Duh

I dunno. But, it's hyphenated in the famous Wallace Steven's poem "The Emperor of Ice-Cream."

The Emperor of Ice-Cream- Poets.org - Poetry, Poems, Bios & More

My Random House (random!) says "ice cream" with no hyphen, but includes a hyphen when it is used to modify another noun: "ice-cream parlor."

I like applesauce but it IS a pretty gross word. Couldn't they come up with something more appetizing than sauce?

Random thoughts....

This is my 2nd stay in Playa...I'm staying for a couple months and after the first 10 days here are a few thoughts/observations/lessons I've developed:

Thinking back, the fact the bartender was missing 2 fingers should have been hint #1, not to let him pick our drinks...

2 for 1 martini's every Tuesday at the Dirty Martini...I title this night "Short Stories with Tragic Endings"...

I was drinking with 3 girls and 1 gay dude...100% certain I'm getting laid.. 75% chance I'll enjoy it...

Walked by a bakery giving away free donut samples....best walk of shame ever...

My high school French never taught me that "menage a trois" is actually a verb...
