Nice! I think that sounds like fun....sometimes you have the most fun when you have the least plans. Road trip report?

I don't blame you....horses scare me. I had a pony that we boarded at a neighbours growing up and I loved her, but they also had other horses and they would BITE...and I got bucked off once.....stupid horses.

J do you guys have a Rock Creek Tap and Grill there? How about a Cactus Cafe?

omg I would do that, in a heartbeat- sounds fun- have a great time!

but D would HATE that! He is way too much of a planner. He is going to Montana and Yellowstone on his annual Wild Hogs motorcycle trip this coming long weekend. I am going to Cowtown to see my Dad and heading out to Jasper and Banff on day trips.

I will!

Isn't that something about Hurricane Irene! We just found out through Facebook that our friends Dale and Deb are there for the World Firefighter/Police games! They were staying 2 blocks from Times Square. But she says she can see blue sky now...so the worst must have passed.

It is a gorgeous sunny calm day here...D is going to shoot skeet and I am going to putter in the garden and laze around.
now youre just showing off that you can multi-quote

Do any randomites eat plant based at least a day or two a week? I'm thinking I may start eating less meat.

Weird since the company I work for now is a meat processor, albeit a smaller family-owned one.

We don't have the 1st restaurant, but apparently we do have the Cactus Cafe (in WEM I think). I haven't been to it though.

I try to do meat free meals 2-3 times a week. It is healthier and I feel better, but I do like me some meat from time to time

Ladies night out for eats and drinks turned into bar hopping and experimenting with various shots! We all had a blast, and finally closed the last bar down. I had to get up super early to work a fundraiser today, and I felt great all day in spite of the wobbly pop intake last night - it musta been all the water I had between drinks

Hi Craig!

Meat every day here....but usually chicken or fish....if I try to give hubby a dinner with no meat, he whines.

it's easy, silly! Click on the middle icon in the bottom right of each quote you want to quote, then hit plain 'quote' in the last one you want to quote.

Thanks, Jo, I was just wondering, I am meeting friends at the Cactus Cafe in Calgary this weekend for dinner (we don't have one) but we just recently had the other open here.

What a little bitch I read somewhere how much guys hate to be called a bitch Give him some falaful....nothing like a good case of falaful farts

I have very much changed my eating habits the last few months. Health, whole, low fat, low on the food chain, but yeah I can still snork a steak or two.
I have been paying a lot of attention to food products and how really screwed up some of the stuff we call food is.

Anyway, just realized yesterday, that as busy as I have been as of late I am at a very peaceful place in my life........probably get hit by a frickin bus today

I don't think I will try calling him that, thanks anyway ...but yeah, I am sure it would go over like a lead balloon.

Totally agree about a lot of our food....I bought groceries yesterday and was sneaking glances in other people's carts...holy over-processed convenience foods, Batman! We are far from perfect in our food choices but some people buy EVERYTHING packaged and pre-made....not good!

I like this time of year as my grocery bill gets virtually cut in half because of our garden and my aunts and moms....but groceries sure have gone up lately, too, in general.

In my town we have a Walmart superstore and a huge Wholefood type store. Prices are great at Walmart, but 80% of what they stock is over processed and convience type stuff. I would say the other store 80% is top quality and healthy, but frickin expensive Even a gallon of milk is $1.00 more. The other noticable difference is the people that shop at each store........lets just say the healthy store has beautiful people that look good in tight clothes

Mogs, do you have a co-op near you? The prices are usually better than the Whole Paycheck type stores.

The boys have agreed to go meatless with me at least 1 day per week. For W that's not surprising, but X's meal of choice is steak and potatoes so I was shocked. But he did watch Food Inc with me so I think that might have something to do with it.

I do feel better and have more energy than even a few weeks ago. Not 100% sure if that's due to diet or more exercise, or both.

I buy the Dr. Bronner's soap, but I think it's lavender not peppermint.

Whoose!

It makes the girls pirk up too

I bought a big bottle last month. Just a little bit works great with a scrubby. I could tell at first when the boys would use it on their junk cause you would hear a loud "Whoooo!"
