I love the name Athena. When I was growing up, I loved to read about Greek mythology and I thought Athena was one of the coolest goddesses.

We hardly ever call our baby Athena. It's usually Tina, or Teen. And of course, Skinny Mini because she is kind of slim.

Pretty funny and such a great way to explain why you SHOULD use the comma before "and"!! It was how I was taught at Katharine Gibbs School (secretarial school in Boston), and Katie Gibbs is NEVER wrong.

I swear to the FSM I am going to defriend my sister in law and niece on Facebook.

All they ever post is negative, whiney updates.....they are so hard done by, so bored, so broke, their lives suck, etc. The daughter will post a sniffly, martyred post about how no one ever calls or comes to visit her, and then the mom will post a ranty, guilt trip right after, lecturing people to call or stop by....yet when people do, they are often rebuffed or treated nastily anyway.

Complicating matters is yes, they HAVE had a tough time in life recently ....SIL's husband died of brain cancer 5 years ago, and her daughter's husband was killed in a car crash just over a year ago. So to an extent they are right, they are to be pitied and we should reach out and help them....but they act like everyone else has to do the work, and frankly they are so negative and nasty to be around, no one wants to be around them....what on earth do you do with people like this?? Yesterday the daughter (who is 25, not too bright, and lazy as ****) posted "I get so bored sitting around twiddling my thumbs." Um- get a ****ing job, maybe??

What do you do with people who are this negative and act like the world owes them their happiness, short of just telling them to get a grip and be responsible for their lives??

sorry, had to rant

Hide Them

On FB all I do is HIDE their post so I don't have to READ it any-more. That way I have not DE-FRIENDED them and if you CHOOSE to read and or see what they may be up to you can
Funny true story:
I "friended" my son who lives in Atlanta. He is a kid (well 25) who puts the most wacked out things on his WALL. I love him and all but.......geeze just couldn't take it any-more. True story...I hid him after being friends for 3 hours .
I've had alot of kids friends I've had to hide.......just can't take the negative-ness they feel compelled to share.
Do I really care (or any-one) that you don't feel good AGAIN today! Or that your life sucks sooooo bad!
Sorry...........life is short. ENJOY it! It is a GIFT!

I have hidden some annoying people, defriended people for posting hate. My mother is a reposter. Every single spam status out there she reposts....every Facebook is going ot start charging status out there she shares. It drives me crazy. The worst is the religious drivel orwholly inaccurate right wing drivel that is all about spreading misinformation. Sigh.
