I glance at labels occasionally. I used to be a professional dieter so I know how many calories etc. some foods and drinks contain.

I like the WW point system.

It will be 2 years January 9th. Took me 1 day short of 1 year to hit goal. Slow and steady wins this race. Losing it was a lot easier than maintaining it.

Sorry Mogs, I simply don't agree.

It would depend on the circumstances, of course. But say I had an ex BF who maybe threw me around a bit, or cheated on me or whatever, when I was in my early twenties. If he called me up and wanted to meet I'd be like, "Look dude, I think it is great you are finally getting your act together, good luck with that- but that has nothing to do with me and I am very happy today- and have no desire to see you again, I'm good, I've moved on. But all the best to you!" And even if I were lying, or maybe especially if I were, then really why meet with them? The past belongs there.

You don't have to 'make up' with those who done you wrong, if you don't feel like it....and I am not talking about being angry still or carrying around hatred or hurt about it, of course that is unhealthy- but even just ambivalence. I am not sure why there is this modern obsession with 'making things right'...sometimes all that does is end up with MORE bad feelings and anger being stirred up all over again.

You don't OWE someone who treated you badly anything at all, or any of your time, other than a nicely worded e-mail. JMO.

.
OK baby, think you really changed the story here. Nobody ever said anything about this stuff. I would also add out of respect for your current relationship.

....but for arguments sake, lets just make a list of everyone you have ever "been with" and ah, lets just take the top twenty. If you were single and they contacted you and said they wanted to meet and talk about something. How many would you meet with?

What story....there is no story! There were no details given (and sorry Mel, this has morphed from your situation, for sure, I am sure! ).

We were talking about someone from the past 'making amends'.....not sure what would necessitate making amends in your eyes, Mogs....in mine it is likely something a bit more serious than being late for a date or something.

and real funny, but pretty rude!!!! my grand total is actually fewer than 20, baby. Pretty hard to answer that from a single person POV, but I honestly think if they contacted me and wanted to meet- probably I would not want to meet with any of them. Been there, done that, no need to rehash.

Now, some of the ones I never actually dated seriously/slept with, those I might want to meet with. But don't we all have fonder memories of those who remain a bit of a mystery and 'got away'?

This is the difficult part for me. I've gained weight back because I had that mindset that I could eat whatever I wanted because I exercised on a daily basis. I'd quit exercising and all the weight would come back freaking fast.

I had not been on a diet in years. When I broke my leg, I freaked out and really was careful about what I was eating because I did not want to blow up. I didn't walk for over three months. I lost thirty pounds. I had not weighed myself, but I noticed my jeans were loose. When I could bear some weight on the fractured leg, that is when I found out I had lost all of that weight. A lot was due to muscle loss. This was two years ago, and I have not gained the weight back. I pretty much eat and drink what I want one or two days a week and the rest of the time, I consume around 1300-1800 calories.

I walk and that is about it. I want to start lifting weight and go back to doing yoga.

Ok, well than I guess its just me. I also have very little need to rehash the past, but if someone needed to see me and it was no real problem than I would give them the time. For me all the bad of the past always fades away and only good remains.

...................and sorry if that was rude, trying to be funny

That sounds good. You know it IS Friday night. I would step it up a notch and add something deep fried. Now THAT'S a party.
