Thanks Heather. I'm doing ok.

I'm definitely trying to come up with a nice relaxing vacation idea. Work is encouraging people on the project to either take vacation the week between Christmas & New Year's, or in January since I will be locked down from taking any vacation for several months likely starting in February or March.

There once was a little boy who wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with cupcakes, several cans of root beer and started on his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he saw an elderly woman. She was sitting on a park bench watching the pigeons. The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed the lady looked hungry so he offered her a cupcake. She gratefully accepted and smiled at him.

Her smile was so wonderful that he wanted to see it again, so he offered a root beer as well. Once again she smiled at him. The boy was delighted!

They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling without saying a word.

As it began to grow dark, the boy realized how tired he was and wanted to go home. He got up to leave but before he had gone no more than a few steps, he turned around and ran back to the old woman, giving her a big hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever.

When the boy arrived home his Mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked, "What has made you so happy today?" He replied, "I had lunch with God." Before his mother could respond he added, "You know what? She's got the most beautiful smile in the whole world!"

Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home. Her son was stunned by the look of peace on her face. He asked, "Mother, what has made you so happy today?" She replied, "I ate cupcakes in the park with God." And before her son could reply, she added, "You know, he is much younger than I expected."

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring; all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

Take no one for granted and embrace all equally with joy!

I just made the most disgusting thing I have ever concocted...doggie brownies...from this recipe I got on-line. They're made with liver and flour and stuff. Seriously....have you ever put raw liver in a blender? DON"T DO IT! It is totally gross. I will go out and buy the dog a prime rib before I do this again....

Is thinking there are 52 states and not 50 a common thing?

One of the guys is going to the US for work next week...I asked him where...he says "Some state that starts with an M." (it's Michigan.)

That sparked a convo about how many states there are....I was THE ONLY one in a room of 6 who knew it was 50...ALL the other 5 said 52.

Just count the stars. I would imagine it's not uncommon for Canadians not to know. If you count Guam and Puerto Rico maybe. I don't know how many provinces are in Canada. (Are they even called provinces?) 5? 6? I don't know how many states are in Mexico. 6?

There are a lot of M states. Michigan, Montana, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, Maine... Did I miss any? Seems like if he's traveling to an M state he'd want to narrow that down some.

I said- it's Michigan. (he was kidding, of course he knew. )

There are a lot of 'M' states! 8 I think? That was another thing we discussed.

Without looking- I think there are around 30 or even more Mexican states!!

Canada- ten provinces and 3 territories....British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, PEI, Yukon and Northwest Terrorities and Nunavut...and ....shee-ite just a minute

Damn! Everything east of the Mississippi river gets muddled for me. I knew there was another one by the great lakes. And I just think of Boston when I think of Mass.

I missed Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. That's not fair. Rhode Island is smaller than the county I live in.
