I've had that SNL song on my mind all day: I wish it was Christmas toDAY, I wish it was Christmas toDAY!

I stopped by my mom's to drop off the last of my presents and went snooping. Me: don't you have any Christmas cookies? Ma: I didn't make any this year. Me: what?? Ma: why don't YOU make some? Then we both started laughing.

Off to my sis in law's: land of chocolate crinkles, puppy chow, cut outs, snickerdoodles, rice crispy treats and chocolate dipped pretzels. I just want a little bite.

On the 11th day from Christmas, my Missus gave for me:
Eleven pails of borscht (beet soup)
10 pounds chesnak (garlic)
9 months pregnant
8 all my supper
7 four by two slabs
6 overalls
5 golden rings of kielbasa (kielbasa = sausage)
4 holuptchi (cabbage rolls...)
3 rubber boots
2 perogies
and a bowl of sour cream for me




He is from a town about 15 minutes from the mine I work at.

Took a walk with my nephews today. One of my brother's neighbors has a sign that says "Keep the Christ in Christmas." I have the 8 year old read it to me: keep the Krist in Christmas (he says it the way you pronounce the first syllable of Christmas). He turns to me and says, I don't get it.

Me: not Krist, Christ.

What's Christ?

Another name for Jesus.

OH!

It was really cute. Then we stopped by a manger filled with hay and I said: let's go get your sleeping bag and you guys can camp out here tonight. He seemed to be considering this for a minute: can I bring my DS?
