Oh my. I just bumped into a guy in the lobby. He was upset because he started in Portland Oregon and is headed to Knoxville TN to see his daughter. He said he should be there by now but took a wrong turn and is now in Utah.
TRUE conversation. "so you started in Portland yesterday?""Yes." "And you thought you'd be in knoxville by now?" "Yes, but I took a wrong turn and now I'm in Utah." "Um, Knoxville Tennessee? From Portland Oregon?" "Yes. But I took a wrong turn." "Um. Okay. So... you are a couple days away yet at best." "Well I'm thinking I will get there tomorrow." "Um... welll... Have you looked at a map?" "Well I would be there by now if I didn't take a wrong turn." "Oh. Um... okay. Well, safe travels to you."

So it turns out the traveler is named Sean. Traveling from Portland to see his daughter and new grandson. Traveling on a wing and a prayer. He is exhausted and really has no idea how far away he is.
He said he was hungry but had a bad headache and was sick to his stomach and took a bunch of tylanol PM to go to bed. That didn't really sit well with me. (I'm guessing stress from the drive?) I hadn't decided on a dinner plan for myself either so I hit the Dennys next door and got a patty melt and onion rings for myself (which sounds awesome) and a bowl of chicken noodle soup, grill cheese sandwich, and mashed potatoes for my new buddy. I knocked on his door and said "dinner is here!""Oh man, I can't eat." "Eat something. Get some sleep. You'll feel better tomorrow! See you in the morning." I think he was happy. If not hungry, at least knowing he's not in the middle of nowhere, with no one. I hope he eats, sleeps, rejuvanates, and makes it to Knoxville to see his grandson.

Sean sounds like he has some issues.
![]() Blizzarding here! The drive to work was a nail biter. We should be preparing for spring and here it is, winter for the first time. Better late than never?? We had about as much snow overnight last night as we have had all winter- yikes! And I have a sore back and can't shovel later. Poor Donnie. ![]()

Don't bug me about my teeth OR my toes! ![]() ![]() ![]() I hope you DO get to do some more skiing yet...it's only early March, I think I am getting ahead of myself thinking it's almost spring. ![]() My one carpool guy was bitching (mildly) about his wife's moodiness lately yesterday....he said he 'read in one of her Women's Health issues that women aged 40-55 are at the angriest stage of their lives'....due to stress from raising ungrateful kids, workload stress, dealing with aging parents, and dealing with aging issues of their own and perimenpausal and menopausal hormonal imbalances'. discuss ![]()
