I've used this same hefe recipe for all kinds of finished ales. Apricot, orange, orange cranberry, belgian whit, plain ole' hefe... I think a lemon version would be great!

Getting close to done. Waiting for the wirt to cool down below 80 degrees so I can pitch the yeast and lock it down. This part (and bottling) is where making beer looses its luster. I like the cooking and drinking parts. The preparing, cleaning/sanitizing, waiting, bottling not so much.

Sounds like your raspberry brew is on the trail of a "Berliner Weissbier" (hope I spelled that right - it's been a while) with red currents, although I think the red currents (or juice/nectar) are added at the bar just before serving (rather than added to the wort or the goods). Prosit! Un, zwo, gzuffa! (But I know I didn't spell that right - it's one of those "I can't explain it - you had to be there" things.)

Snowing like crazy here! heard a crash out back and looled outside. The heavy snow colapsed my awning. It,s going to be a mess around town.

Welp, no work for me today. Went and brushed off the car, warmed it up, went to back up... The damn thing won't even move. Call my boss and she said "Yeah. You, me, and everybody else."
SNOW DAY! Technically they are calling it an (Ice/Snow Emergency) whatever that means. |

I think this storm will be to you in a day or 2. It's a biggie. Not windy just LOTS of moisture. This is a fine day for big giant pot of beans! That's what I'll do. 16 bean soup with corn muffins. Mmmm. I'd better go take inventory.

Had I not used half malt and went all wheat instead, it would pretty much be it. Only this will have the syrup already added at bottling instead of at the table. Interesting. (Well maybe not interesting to others, but to me anyway.) ![]() Thanks again. |
