Freaking families.

Not spouses, not kids

Same generation families.

Christopher Hitchens told a story about cannibalism in biblical times and how it is apparently known that human smells, sounds, and tastes like pig when cooked. He theorized that this is why some religions wouldn't eat pig originally, because they couldn't be sure they weren't eating humans.

After we told him there was not way that was going to happen, he said "It could be a speriment in living."
What an adorable story.

I am sorry you are having a rough go with your teen. I joke and I jest, but I know that feeling of helpless/hopelessness. It's hard sometimes to think, "how did we get to here?" when it seems yesterday they were crawling up into our laps while we showered them with kisses. It's hard enough to accept that they are growing out from under our wings, when they are seemingly sabotaging themselves with bad choices it is even worse.

I wrote a blog on that topic recently, actually...about kids growing up. It makes me sad sometimes...other times happy (get out of my pocket book, I want some extra cash to spend and you kids are too expensive!)

My blog about it is here if you want to read it.

No one really knows what goes on inside a marriage. I have seen people say that so many times......truth is .... there are issues......most people are quick to deny them and put on a good face, even more so when there are children involved.

That's awesome. CONGRATS! My granddaughters are 5 and 6 (6 months apart) they are best buddies. And a 3 year old grandson who tags along behind them.

It freaks us out a little because when we have them, it is de ja vu from 20 years ago. They are EXACTLY like their mothers. In every good and bad way.

Try using the word "Poop" in your post. Seem to be the stuff that holds this thread together.

happy birthday to your eldest!!

How old are your twins now?

Drinking age is 21 all over the US? It's 18 or 19 here...I say 18 because the neighboring provinces are 18 and Sask is 19. Dumb, since 18 year olds who live closer to the borders will go to towns across the border to drink/party....and then DRIVE HOME....freaking stupid. They should make it 18 here, too. Or, 19 in all 3, that would work too.

Too busy living your wonderfuol carefree beach life in Paradise to chat with us mere peons from the frozen north.

I think you should tell us all about the goings-on in Playa, more. I am sure there is a 'scandal of the week' you could fill us in on. Like, who pissed off someone this week, got caught with someone's spouse in flagrante delicto, didn't get their promised kickback, got drunk and kicked out of their buddy's bar, got stood up, embezzled some funds, etc etc??

It was like that here for a while also. Now I beleive it is 21 yrs old all over US. Back when I was 18, MN had a 19 yr old drinking limit, but WI had a 18 yr limit. Back then it was about 30 minutes to drive to WI, and I know my friends and I did it a few times.
