I sent off another short romance to Woman's World last week. Wrote and revised a new one today. These are surprisingly fun to think up and write. If I can sell three freelance pieces that will be roughly the equivalent of teaching a summer class, but no papers to grade!

It's good to be writing new stuff, even if it's just these silly little micro-fictions.

There is research showing that women who read romances are more satisfied with their sex lives.

Don't know of any about women who write romances, though.

Sure, why not. Today is a new day.

I can make the expected noises of comfort and sympathetic understanding with the best of them.

Get your paperclip fired up! (literally! )

This week has been WAY TOO BUSY! A United Way luncheon Tuesday and last night a work dinner meeting, and I never got home until almost ten. Tired today.

I see you more as a slap on the back of the head and a stern "walk it off" type of person. I respect that.

I had the finger fixed last night, it ended up being infected so it is a good thing I went to the urgent care center. My pointer finger is no longer twice the size of my thumb, literally.

Thanks for the final push Ranger. Your father in law story put m over the edge.

By the way, why do doctors insist on lying by saying, "you might feel a slight discomfort", when they know that what they are about to do hurts like hell? They sucker me every time with that line.

You are welcome, finally a good use for my FIL! In his eulogy the minister talked about the "slap to the back of MY head by him"!! He was working for me at the time too.

It'll still take some time for the finger to be somewhat normal though.

I feel GOOD this morning! First morning in 5 weeks I didn't wake up reaching for the oxycodone bottle. I may not make it through the entire day without it but it's a helluva start. Yeah baby. I'm almost back!
