I stayed in the Plantation House for a month last summer but lost my camera shortly before returning so am loving these pics..so sad I lost all the photos I took. I even recognize that cat that used to curl up on the chair outside my door everyday....didn't know they had names, though. I always called him "raton". He had short spiky fur and a long thin tail.
Anyway, I'd love to see any more pics you have of the place.

Day 5 (I think)

Today was an absolutely do nothing kind of day.

We didn't go out for breakfast, didn't go out for lunch. We played in the pool, sat around reading, took naps. I did some laundry. Now, isn't that what you want to be doing on your vacation??? Really though, it's awesome to be able to do it and great to have clean clothes all the time. It means that you have to pack less because you'll never run out!

Gerald and Meaghan actually went to the beach for about an hour while Mike and I napped. I would never have known they were gone but they so rudely woke me up from my nap on the hammock to tell me they were leaving. Bloody hell.

Later in the day Gerald and I went for a nice long walk, checked out the 2 big AI's down the street. I think one is Porto Grand Real or something like that and I don't remember the name of the other, although it's right across the street. These two are right where the pier goes way out. There was a big, beautiful pelican sitting happily on some rocks until one little guy threw a stone at him. Mr. Pelican was none too impressed and left.

We watched a guy across the street carving a tall wooden log for the new villas across the street from PH. He was just finishing it up and did a beautiful job of carving it. By the time we came back from our walk he's finished it and was standing back taking pictures of his handiwork.

Finally, we got ourselves together and headed out for dinner. I would have been just as happy getting something to bring back, but the kids wanted to get out. So, we headed up to 5th again because no one felt like going any further. We chose to eat at La Parilla, which was pretty disappointing.

Gerald and I had salmon, which was not bad, but the portion size was tiny.

Mike had ribs, which he said were really good. The iced tea was fabulous!

Meaghan had spaghetti pomodoro, and hers was pretty good too.

The rest of these pictures just demonstrate the silliness of our family. I can't ever get a good picture of people without someone doing something ridiculous.

We got back to PH at about 9:15, and Gerald and Mike headed out to play tennis at some courts we found. Meaghan and I had a quick swim, put our jammies on and curled up to watch tv.

The courts were only supposed to be open until 10, but they were able to play until 11 before finally getting kicked out.

That's it for another day in beautiful Playa!

There many dozen names for pastry in Mexico, and they change from region to region. Yours look familiar, but can't remember a name. Does it has cheese? something similar to cheese-cake or is just bread?

Normally, the names are in the tray. Or just ask the clerk.

A suggestion, look if your camera has a "macro" option (normally a flower icon), if no, step back like 10-15 cm until the image comes sharper.
