The second weekend in Iowa has the annual bike ride across Iowa called RAGBRAI. It usually attracts around 15 to 20 thousand riders. My wife and I have ridden twice on it but only 2 days at a time. You start at the Missouri river and ride to the Mississippi. It's quite a ride as you can imagine with that many bikers.

I grew up in extreme northwestern Iowa right by the Big Sioux River. RAGBRAI started in our hometown every couple years. I've penciled in the goal to complete in the next year or two.

This whole biking addiction is really taking over my life...but I love it and feel to be in the best shape (and health) of my life, and getting better every ride!

I commute to work on my Cyclocross bike. It's 11 miles one way, but a 600 foot elevation gain on the way home.

When I get home some days, my mother-in-law has made brownies or chocolate chip cookies..........
