Also, we were told that at that time of year it is the rainy season and that Diving and snorkeling can be cloudy, not a good time to go for this experience - What has anyone experienced?

Hi Bob and Diane! Welcome!! Thanksgiving is one of our most popular times of year for visitors to Playa, so I think you'll find snorkeling and diving a great time. We have a weather and wear article that can help you to know what to expect. October, November, and December are my favorite 3 months in the year because the temperature is cooling off a bit from the summer high heat. Who am I kidding? Every month in Playa is my favorite month!

Happy Planning!
