I need major help with the Iberostar Lindo, Please do help!!

Ok here it is my gf and I have booked a week at the Paraiso Del Mar. Also three other couples have done the same. We are basically going together but we didnt book together. So here comes the problem. We just got our papers for the trip and our hotel says the Lindo and the others say they Del Mar. What is the exact exchange policy for the Lindo to the Del Mar and the Beach. I know that basically the Del Mar and BEach our one hotel in a sense they share everything pretty much. I also know that they cant come to the Lindo. But can we go to the Paraiso or the Beach side 24hrs a day and drink or whatever???? I know you can go till 6pm but does it hold through all night. I say this because we are going to want to hang with the other couples at night and its not worth going if we can only do the hang til 6pm. Anyone have any info on this. Oh by the way if you are going to tell me to switch hotels, we have tried and the Beach and Del mar are booked.

Well - sounds like a problem. The Signature Vacations website informs that guests can visit the other IB* resorts only until 6 pm so the a-la-cartes, bars, buffets and discos would be off limits. I'd suggest checking with the Lindo front desk and explain you'd like to visit friends at the Del Mar and they shoudn't have a problem since you paid more for the Lindo than the Del Mar.

Temptsboy, That's too bad that you didn't book together just to make sure something like this didn't happen. You didn't use the same company either, huh? I wonder if they're just giving you a line that the Paraiso Beach and del Mar are booked. Have you tried putting in the exact same information on an instant quote website. If you haven't, I would suggest you go on Funjet.com and they will give you an exact quote. Then I'd call them up and just talk to someone and make sure they have room. And perhaps print out a copy of what Funjet quotes you. And call the place you are now booked with (for the Lindo) and explain to them that you know that the Del Mar and Beach have room. They may just be saying this b/c you are paying more money for the Lindo. I don't know-I know it will be a big pain in your butt but your friends could see if they could switch to the Lindo, but it's more expensive. Just to let you know, I'm staying at the Lindo resort (11/8-11/16) and I'm super happy about it b/c ity's the newest of the resorts and they are supposed to have UNbelievable pools.
Gmacpro, I have enjoyed your pictures quite often-that's a great site for me to go to before I actually get there. I have a question for you-I notice you are on floats in the del Mar pools-did you bring those, or do they supply you with them?

First thanks for the comments on the photos. I'm a little confused though as I'm not on any float. We're on loungers which are provided and there is a photo of Raftman on a float - lime green one... He brought that as floats are not provided by the resort.

Guys thanks a lot. My finding were inconclusive??? Even when callind the hotel direct and I speak perfect spanish, but all is not lost. My GF called up apple and they finally got an opening at the Paraiso Del Mar and we were switched. They didnt charge us for the change either so thats pretty good. I will have a report after I get back. I have already been to the Tucan so I am really looking forward to my next Iberostar experience.

Gmacpro, I actually didn't think that was you on that lime green raft, but thanks for telling me I am going to have to bring one with me. I can't see myself floating down a lazy river without one, ya know!
Temptsboy, I'm glad everything worked out for you!! That would suck if you and your gf were the only ones apart from the rest of your group of friends. I was going to tell you too, that even though I didn't know the dates of your trip I went online to two separate websites and one said the del Mar was booked, and the other one didn't. (I just used the same dates I am going; 11/8-11/16) FYI, fortunatley for me, they quoted me a higher price for the del mar than they did for what I paid for what's considered the 'pricier' Lindo). Anyway, so when are you all going?
