I am in love with.........Playa. Came, saw, adventured, fell in love last Nov. Coming back same time, same place, but longer :P and, solo this time. So, here it goes - What is the possibility of meeting any of you during my stay? I really want to go out and enjoy all of Playa and the surrounding area, but must admit that I am a bit bummed that I am doing this alone and I am afraid that I will just stay at my hotel's beach and not venture out to any/all of the awesome places you guys are talking about. I especially want to experience some of the night life too - but being that I am solo, I hesitate to venture out to eat and have drinks and then try to make my way back to the hotel alone. Am I being a scardy cat? Am I over-reacting? :o I just booked my airfare 2 days ago, but in my mind I am already in Playa...

You don't say whether you are male or female, but no difference. After several visits to Playa with friends, I made the venture solo last June. I met a good number of people from this forum while there, all of which I would probably select to be my friends here at home! In all honesty, I found a great freedom in traveling solo - probably pretty selfish, but I did what I wanted to do, when I wanted to.

While I won't be there during your visit, I'm sure others from the forum will, and will reply to your post. Make the effort to meet them all - it's well worth it! On the off chance that no other forum members will be there, you'll have no problems. Just grab that empty chair at the bar, smile at the person next to you and say 'hola'. I think you'll find that most everyone will be happy to meet you. That's just the way it is in Playa.

Don't worry, I'm absolutely positive you'll have a fab time!

My fiance and I will be there from 11/3-11/10 (staying at La Tortuga) on our honeymoon. Honestly can't say where we will be and how much time we will have for socializing :wink: but maybe we will run into you as we will definitely be out enjoying all PDC has to offer. We are going on the Fat Cat cruise on that Thursday the 6th. And plan on going on the ATV tour one day. Hope we all have a great time!!!

Yeah, I guess I kinda forgot to tell you that I'm a girl! I'm 30, I live outside of San Francisco, but I'm originally from Santa Barbara. I will be staying at the Continental Plaza Playacar. I am up for meeting anyone for drinks, activities, dinners, just hanging out. Don't know Playa enough to know where to converge, but I'm sure we'll figure it out. I would love to have some company if I go to Cancun/Cozumel/day trips. But, I understand you all have your agendas too! Thanks for all the replies and offers.

My friend and I are going to be in Playa November 1-6. We're staying at the Blue Parrot. This will be our first trip to Mexico, and we are coming for the diving. We live in the Sacramento area and are both in our 30's, too. If you want to meet up with us for dinner, drinks, a tour to the runis, or some diving, let me know. We're both gals :o)

i just happened upon this site and thought of writing something similar, but hesitated and then i found yours! am coming to cozumel oct 26, heading to tulum and merida and then will be at playa btw nov 3-9 and would love to meet up with vacationers, beach bums and newbies to playa as well. am f, in my 30's - so wannplay, playagroupie et al, where do we go from here?

Maybe we could organize a place and have everyone from this awesome site meet up for a cool drink on the beach. Let me know what you think.

I’ll be at La Ranita late on Saturday (Nov 1) Night approx 10pm. I’ll be in town for three days. On other evenings, dinner would be a welcome option as I will be on my own and busy during the day. Stop by La Ranita late Saturday if you can.

I am now working on my fifth trip of the year (fourth between now and years end). The temptation of being at a business meeting in Guadalajara with Playa calling out to me is going to prove too much; I may just have to take the long route home.
