Actually after saying that, I did in fact see a cruise ship yesterday. However you may like this: it was well off in the distance, not parked front and center, and it was headed steadily south, as if to Calica. And indeed later in the afternoon we saw a number of people from the ship walking around town and on the beach or at our restaurant.
That is to say, it was just like the old days.
