The Caribbean. I enjoyed Playa, I enjoyed the restaurants, the beach club, the hotel, the prices, Tulum and the hotel south of Tulum. It was all good. The food, the Tequila Barrel and La Ranita. I enjoyed being there with Kathy, meeting James and Anna, sushi at Cabalova, breakfast at la Cueva del Chango, coffee at Paamul. All enjoyable, but the Caribbean as a backdrop for most of it made it more memorable than other trips I have taken, other places I have lived.

I have only been to Playa and environs for one week. There is much there I still want to experience, but.....I first saw the Caribbean when I was 9. I am 52 now. It still amazes me with its colors. Combining it with a place that is somewhat similar to the resort town where I spent my early years. My wife said she heard more about my childhood in Brasil during our week there then she had in 25 years of marriage. It certainly did stimulate memories.

Enough of a Friday afternoon ramble for now.
