I agree with Riss. There are many nice quiet fun small towns on the west coast of Mexico with great beaches and shallow water for the kids to play in. We really like Rincon de Guayabitos, about 45 minutes north of PV.
NOw back to your TR. What a great start and nice pictures as well. Keep it coming and thanks for sharing. |

Another thing you could do, is write it all up in an e-mail window or in Word, then cut and paste it, just so you have a copy saved. Then, to get rid of any weird font issues that might make it go all wonky, just highlight your whole post and click on the 'remove texr formatting; icon- top left corner of this window, the blue underlined 'A' with the red line through it. looking forward to it! |

Day Three: The Bus tour into PV
![]() So we decided to take a bus trip into town, this wasn't really our style but we felt it was our best option with kids ages 5, and 8. We could get on a nice air condtioned bus with a potty and make stop and go's. We needed a shopping day and this was it...we had our hearts set on some day of the dead statues...and this was it! We have a scheduled bus pick up time for 7am....6 rolls around and we haul a$$ to the breakfast buffet to eat what we could manage and pump the kids up for day..Like a crazed mom I stuff food into my bag ingnoring the sign no taking food out the area. I grab buns, fruit, ceral boxes, and what ever else I think can withstand the days travel, and heat. Watching the clock to make sure we nail this days schedule we hurry to the main lobby to catch our grand coach. We arrive to find a group of tired looking people waiting for the bus.....The bus is late....we wondering for 20 mintues if we have time to make it back to the room to grab some road pops..We don't do this. The bus shows up half a hour later to cheers! Our tour guide informs us that no he is not running on Mexician time the tour company has just made unreasonable stop times for the distance they need to travel...He informs us that we still have a few stops. ![]() The first stop is shortly after Nuevo Vallarta to a marina wich houses some pretty sick boats. With no need to gawk at other peoples financial wealth. We decide to use our time wisely and track down some coffee's and the bano. This was about a half hour stop..... We then head into town with our tour guide Cervando filling our heads with local knowledge. Cervando was a pretty wicked guide. He gave us the low down on the local football scence, gossip about local dirty buisness man and the corruption that occurs in Mexico (bribes and shady deals to build a 27 storey building on swampland without a proper foundation) . With great detail he let us in on what the area looked like before it became a tourist mecca.... he learned to swim here... he hunted crabs here...He was a pround Mexican and loved PV....what he did not like though was Nuevo Vallarta and what had happended there.... I loved this guy! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We arrive in town and get off at the malecon....This was the part I had been dreading....Walking around town like a green tourist with their socks pulled up high and white sun screen left un rubbed on their nose......We are wearing these little stickers on our shirts that say CERVANDO, just in case we get lost So we get off the bus and the heat hit you like a forest fire blazing in the Okanagan...it is loud and we are suppose to be following our group to learn about what all the statues mean...I decide to kinda fall back and take it all in. The boys are really enjoying themselves and we are sooo glad we decided to do this! ![]() ![]() We have to have a little chat with the boys and use the parent card of telling them that we are going to be getting prezzies for them, and they perk up. ![]() Next stop is Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. I had been here many years before, but was not allowed in due to the fact my friend Deanna was wearing a t-shirt that stated she had found Jesus, he was behind the couch the whole time...I was glad that we got to check this out as it was beautiful. I was raised Roman Catholic and have always loved the churches. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After this we head towards the flea market. We have been told that this has been set up by signature for our shopping "convience" $$$$$$$$$ Almost free time! We are really thristy and in need of beer! Almost there we find a ice cream stand and the boys are sooo in! We have told all about the yummy icecream in Mexico and this is it! Two sticky kids and us enter the flea market and get er' done.We do so find our day of the statues, get the token vanilla, some luchador masks, and a cool whip for Kalen who is so into Indiana Jones.(at this time, it's Pokemon now, he lives and breaths for it) ![]() ![]() ![]() [IMG]http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo160/spazmoog/Mexico%20Kukahmunga/mexico2008_2067.jpg() FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!! BEER ME!!!!!!!!! We find this little cigar shop that has a wee little bar in it...I saunter up to the bar and ask if they can make two micheladas...We are in, YES! Time is ticking, and we need to get back on the bus soon. I need smokes and we so deserve some road pops...Josh talks to the lady and she hooks us up with some cans of beer! LOVE HER! I run to find smokes and leave the boys behind to stand watch for the bus...I get a little lost, but make it back in time. Josh is beaming and we board the luxury coach! The next stop is the silver shop....SHINEY SPARKLEY!!!! WOOP WOOP!!!!!! We get to the shop, and are greeted with some yummy pink tequila drink...smart group here getting them drinking to make dropping cash easier...we knew what we wanted here....our wedding rings, and something special for our 8 year old to ask him to be our best man...I get a little something extra.....Back on the bus gus it's tequila time! The bus is getting fun as many others grabbed road pops along the way and it seems like the thought of being surrounded by all this yummy tequila is intoxicated our fellow roadies! We make a little stop by this rock that is beautiful....we are making some good friends by now and we get off for a little smoke break... TEQUILA COME TO ME!!!!!!!!!!! We arrive......Josh who educates himself before going anywhere knows what kind of tequila we are getting. He is talking up our new friends and getting them pumped on getting some nice bottles. The sippie cups go around and we taste the nector of the gods! We pick up four bottles. One to sip on for the duration of our trip and three to take home to show off. Oh yes I will tell you what we picked up except for the one we drank...I really can't remember what it was....El Redemptor Reposado 100% agave from Amatitan, Jalisco MX it came in a beautiful frosted bottle with an angel on the inside. Bottle number 2 Corazon Reposado hand (actually lung....) blown bottled from Arandas Jalisco. Bottle number three our treasure, Asom Broso, La Rosa Reposado hand bottled limited edition that had been aged for 3 months in a bordeaux vino barrell....YUM!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The bus road home is filled with people singing, and laughing! We are now a motley crue! The boys are wiped out..I know we fed them along the way but I really don't think we ate until we got back to the hotel!!!!!!!!!!!The day turned out to be great fun, and we felt successful in our finds!!!!!! We cooled down in the pool and got gussied up for some dinner..... Later that evening we went to the theather to watch the evenings show. The boys loved it! It was some dance number that represented all the elements. Who knew our boys would love the theater so much..but pretty much after this we included the theater in our evening ritual de lo habitual before our after or trip to the beach...... ![]() After our fun in the city and evening on the resort we headed up to our room to finally enjoy our tequila on our balcony!!!! PERFECT!!!!!!
