Unfortunately, we will not be there again this year. We had this major itch to explore new territory this year and since we where in Playa for 2 1/2 weeks this May already, will be heading for Costa Rica from Dec. 25 to Jan. 3.
But we will miss all of you and think of you. We know the beaches in CR will not compare even close to the Riviera Maya but can't wait to see Volcano's, Howler Monkey's, River Rafting and zipping through the Rainforest Canopy. Will be exploring a small town called Montezuma on the Nicoya Peninsula that sounds like Playa 15 years ago. It will be interesting but we will think of all of you and miss you. Especially Michael, Rose, Talisa, James and Anna. But we will be back in 2004 for sure just not during Aquamale season again. I wish all of you going a wonderful time in beautiful Playa over the Holidays!!!!

Muyil YES

Denise,

Rosa and I definitely want to go out to Muyil.

You should suggest a day for the trip (choose a day after Tyra arrives in Playa).

For other readers that want to check out Muyil here is a link.

I will have a large vehicle and so we may be able to take a group to Muyil from Playa.

There are five of us, so far; Denise, Keith, Tyra, Rosa and myself. I think we may have room for three more.

Special note to blueseas, if you make it down to Q Roo again this Christmas, no sudden lane changes please. It will be me in the SUV this time and not the cops.

Munichchick, I hope you have a wonderful holiday in CR. Sorry we will not be able to meet you and Dean again. One of these times I'm sure our paths will cross in Playa. I do hope you post a trip report about your trip for us when you return. I've always wanted to visit CR --- one of these days we'll get there if we can ever tear ourselves away from visiting Playa.

Let's see Tyra arrives 12/25 and I noticed a bunch of other people don't arrive until 12/26. So how does 12/27, 28 or 29 sound? Being it's vacation, we're flexible --- the only thing we have planned so far is the BFE II on 12/30.

Tyra, do you have a preference? Anyone else interested in joining us? If so, do you have a preference as to the date?

For those who are interested, in addition to the great info in the read more section here on PlayaInfo that Mike referenced in his previous post, there's also a very informative web site about Muyil that you will find here.

Cool! I get to go exploring! From Michael’s post it sounds like I even get a seat! I had already been planning how I was going to somehow have to create a diversion and steal away in the back of the suburban as cargo.

Denise, thanks for asking about my preference. Other than the BFE II, my social calendar is a clean slate!

Lyn - I wondered when you were gonna chime in on this post...

Yes, of course, there wil be plenty of opportunities to party and eat some of Jaime's shrimp tacos (said in Homer Simpson-esque fashion: Ummmm shrimp tacos.)! Those things are a given - no need to put them on a calendar!

We'll be there!

The Indiana Gang arrives on December 20th and will bethere through the 3rd.

We are booked for the BFCEII.

We would enjoy meeting up with the Play Info gang. Our most likely han out (s) will be Captain Dave's place (s) and the Tequila Barrel, but if there is a meeting place for the gang, let me know and we will be there!

WE CAN"T WAIT!!!

I can't believe how much action there is going to be. It looks like everybody is going to be there anywhere from the 20th to the 1st. We will arrive from our home port Juneau Alaska Dec 21st. Although we will be in Cancun for 2 days then we will be in Playa on the 23rd. Does anyone have a suggestion on a watering hole we can all meet at say on the 26th. So we can get to know each other again and meet our new friends? Michael H. You pick a spot and we will see you there say 9:00 p.m. on the 26th.

La Ranita

Everyone,

La Ranita is our usual stopping off point for a post dinner adult beverage.
We’ll be there shortly after 9pm on the 26th.

As the sun sets and Happy Hour starts, look out for this guy.

…and the Captain Dave’s crowd is welcome to stop by and drag us over to the Captain’s place too. We often work or way towards the beach between 11 and midnight. Somewhere between Captain Tutix and Kuba depending upon the music and the crowd.

You should also mark your calendars for a special event on the 28th.
One of our good friends from Texas will be posting something during the upcoming week.

I'd like to offer (hope this is kosher) to host a gathering at our restaurant some evening for exactly this purpose, if anyone's interested. Whether it's for full-blown dinner or just drinks between time X and Y, we could work up something good, I think. You can let me know, Michael, if you're somehow in charge of organizing things, or if not, well anyone can just let me know if there's interest and when.
